Spreadsheets and polls

Today in class we learned how to do spreadsheets on microsoft excell. I have done some work with this in the past, but it had been a while and I wasn't quite used to it. It was kind of confusing at first, but once I go the hang of it and understood what I was supposed to be doing it became useful. The main purpose I could see myself using this for would be a grade sheet in class. That is the process we learned today was making a grade sheet. We entered information on students, had to change the size of the cells and put in formulas. This will be very convenient to just enter a formula to calculate a percentage or total score just once instead of a ton of times for each student. This will save a lot of time and will make doing final grades a lot easier. I look forward to using this in my classroom to do my grades and any other thing it will be helpful for. We also learned about how to do polls. I thought that was pretty cool. You can go online type a question and people can text in their answer right then and you can see the progress of the poll. I think the students would enjoy doing this and I could use it in my classroom.
